Chapter 13

Moments later, a photo appeared on Damon’s screen–an unmade bed,

clearly used.

His fury erupted, eyes blazing with barely contained rage.

“So… it was you all along.”

His voice was sharp as a blade, thick with the suffocating weight of his alpha

dominance.

He immediately typed out a message.

Isabelle, I remember warning you–Ariel must never find out about what

happened between us!

After reading it, Isabelle let out a smug laugh, then boldly called.

“Ariel, when did you learn to mimic Damon’s tone so well? You almost fooled

carrying Damon’s child, after all. Who knows? Maybe he’ll dump you soon and

The more she spoke, the more delighted she became.

But the line remained silent.

Continuing on, she said, “What, Ariel? Are you too crushed to even speak? I 

told you–Damon only pretends to care about you. I’m the one he really

wants. He’s sick of you.”

Then came a voice that shattered every ounce of her smugness.

“Oh, really? And who do you think you are, daring to taunt Ariel like this? I’ve

clearly been too lenient with you. Now you think you can run your mouth.

Speak. What exactly have you said to Ariel behind my back?”

Damon’s voice was icy enough to freeze bone. Every word struck Isabelle like

a blow to the chest.

It was over. She was finished.

Isabelle trembled all over, barely able to hold her phone.

No–she had Damon’s baby. He wouldn’t really do anything to her… right?

Clinging to that thought, she steadied herself.

Tears fell in an instant, her voice laced with feigned fragility.

“Alpha, I… I’m sorry… I didn’t mean to… Luna cursed me first, I was just

defending myself…I was wrong, really… Please don’t be like this. I’m scared…”

She sobbed pitifully, voice trembling, playing the helpless victim to perfection.

But this time, Damon wasn’t buying it.

“Enough. If you won’t tell the truth, I’ll find out myself.”

He gave her no chance to explain. The call ended without hesitation.

Damon immediately dispatched elite werewolf warriors to seize Isabelle’s

phone.

She hadn’t even had time to fake the messages before it was taken.

Opening her messages, it was all laid bare–photo after photo, line after line

of cruel words sent to Ariel over the past two weeks.

Damon stared at the vile images

and texts, and his vision went black. A roar of

anguish rang out in his head.

What had he and Isabelle done?

Even imagining what Ariel had endured was enough to leave him breathless.

His face went pale. The pain in his chest was unbearable.

It took a long time before he could regain even a shred of composure.

But when he did, his expression was deathly cold, and the murderous air

around him was enough to send anyone running.
