Chapter 15

“Shut up!”

Damon’s voice thundered with fury.

“Isabelle, get this through your head. You were nothing more than a tool for

pleasure. What right do you have to even mention yourself in the same

breath as Ariel?”

His eyes were cold as ice, laced with a terrifying edge of malice.

“It’s just a pup. If I want another, I can have as many as I like. Someone take

Isabelle to the hospital and get rid of it.”

“No!”

Panic overwhelmed Isabelle. She clutched her belly with all her strength.

She couldn’t lose the baby.

It was the only leverage she had left to cling to her status and survive in

Desperately, she bolted toward the crowd.

They would save her–those werewolves had sworn to protect her, to stand by

her side!

But Damon calmly gestured for the two elite betas to stand down.

He let her run, watching her futile struggle with a look so cold, it was as if he

were already watching a corpse.

Sure enough, the next moment plunged Isabelle into utter despair.

The crowd she had run to–the same one that had once rallied behind her-

began to shift.

The frenzy had passed, and now they saw clearly.

Thanks to Damon’s notoriety, the truth came crashing down. News of the

Thornfang Pack and Alpha Damon was everywhere.

Even the kids on the street knew how much Alpha Damon adored his Luna,

Ariel.

Their love story had been one that countless werewolves admired–parents

even told their pups about it.

So the moment they saw Damon and the warriors behind him, they

understood who he was.

But they never expected the sweet, likable influencer Isabelle to be Damon’s

mistress.

In a flash, their image of Damon was shattered.

What enraged them even more was discovering Isabelle had manipulated

their sympathy, painting Luna Ariel as the homewrecker.

They’d trusted her, stood in front of her, tried to defend her–and all for a lie.

Their eyes filled with growing rage.

How dare Isabelle exploit their kindness and make fools of them?

The same crowd that had protected her moments ago now turned on her

with vicious fury.

The moment she tried to reach them, she was swallowed up by fists and

boots. 

Insults poured down like rain.

“Slut!”

“Whore!”

And those were the nicer words.

They cursed her entire bloodline as if it were cursed.

Damon watched with detachment until he deemed it enough. Then, and only

then, he strolled forward and ordered his warriors to pull the crowd apart.

With a nudge of his shoe, he lifted Isabelle’s chin.

“Apologize to Ariel on every platform. Publicly. Then delete every account your

have. And never appear before me again.”

He left no room for refusal.

To him, she was an Omega–an outlet, a subordinate. Someone meant to

obey.

Isabelle lay crumpled on the ground, utterly stripped of dignity. But even now,

she clutched her stomach like a lifeline.

No matter how many beatings or curses she endured, she never let go.

That pup was

her last hope.

If she could just carry it to term, maybe she’d still have a

future.

She was a powerless Omega, invisible to the world–but she refused to give

up her only chance to climb.
