Ch. Choose Me 1 Choose Me 1

For ten years, I’ve been with Damian Thorne, the mafia boss with a sex addiction. I’ve had twelve miscarriages

are too numerous; a child would be a threat.

He said his enemies were too

During my shineenth pregnancy, Damian surprisingly agreed to let me keep the baby.

After the p pregnancy stabilized, he completely cleaned up his act and went legitimate.

Seven months pregnant, I accidentally discovered he was keeping a mistress –“a ladle canary, as he called her.

This Title canary” was also pregnant, two months further along than me,

Tears welled up as I confronted him. Damian merely frowned slightly

“Ty’s different from you. She’s just an ordinary girl, she needs the companionship of a child.”

“You know, even if she has a child, she won’t compete with you. Youll always be Mrs. Thorne.”

Gazing into his apathetic eyes, I clenched my fists

Taking a deep breath, I said calmly:

“Forget it Let’s break up.”

Damian’s already slightly furrowed brow deepened.

He hadn’t expected me to urter those two words words I wouldn’t say even when held at gunpoint by

Break up

Is this really necessary, Elara?”

Damian’s voice was terrifyingly cold.

He glared at me, displeased, expecting me to retract my statement.

In his eyes, this peaceful life was everything I’d ever dreamed of.

He didn’t understand what I was doing

Neither did L

But I stiffened my neck, refusing to yield.

“Yes, it is.”

The air thickened with repsion. Damian’s face darkened inch by inch.

Ivy, Damian’s hidden little canary for over a year, was the first to break the strained silence

She casually traced her fingers across Damian’s palm, a gesture both flirtatious and comforting

“Damian, if it’s difficult, we can postpone our wedding.”

I looked up sharply.

Gazing at her innocent and pretty face, my mind went blank.

For ten years, Damian always had excuses to refuse marriage.

He feared having a weakness that could be exploited.

He feared he couldn’t protect me.

He feared he couldn’t give me the stable life I wanted.
