Chapter 12

Mark leaned quietly in her arms, emotions swirling within him

She had taken care of him so attentively during this time–he felt both comforted and dependent.

Was a mother’s embrace supposed to feel this warm too!

Amanda helped the little guy get dressed and walked him to the bathroom to pee.

He was clearly uncomfortable with it, but his attitude had improved a lot compared to before..

Afterward. Amanda opened her bag–small in size, but packed with surprises.

She took out a small pill and looked at her son with a gentle voice. “Baby, take this medicine. I’ll go get more for you at noon. Very soon, you’ll be able to see again.”

Mark caught a faint medicinal scent from the pill. His vision was already starting to detect blurry shadows.

“Why can’t you tell anyone that you know medicine?” he asked.

“Because it’s a secret, baby, Amanda replied, still soft–spoken. She couldn’t expose herself. If Barry or the Wilson family found out she was back, they’d stop at nothing to kill her.

“You’re being all sneaky–what exactly are you up to?” Mark was upset. Secrets always meant hiding things. Why couldn’t she let others know she could heal? Was it shameful?

He was angry, and Amanda could sense the unease in his heart.

“Nothing bad. But you have to keep this secret. Otherwise, we’ll both be in danger.”

Amanda looked at the proud little guy and smiled lightly. She knew he was smart–he’d understand.

Mark immediately grasped what she meant.

“Then what about my dad? When will he wake up?”

Amanda turned her gaze toward the man lying on the bed–handsome beyond compare. Even in a coma, his presence was undeniable. Just looking at his features was enough to stir someone’s heart.

She was confident in her medical skills. “He’ll wake up in a few days”

Mark’s face lit up with excitement–but also a touch of sorrow. For the first time in front of someone else, he revealed a vulnerable expression.

“Dad.. got into that accident on the way to find Doctor Samantha. It’s my fault. I caused it.”

This was the second time Mark had cried since the accident. The first time was on the day it happened. This was the second.

He’d never cried before, not even when Charle scolded him as a bastard child with a mother who abandoned him. He’d just glared coldly and when the other wasn’t looking, flung a clump of dirt right at the back of his head.

He’d often make that brat Charlie bawl for his mom and dad.

Amanda hugged her son tightly, patting his back gently. “Baby, it’s not your fault.”

It was Mommy’s fault. Mommy shouldn’t have lost you!

She was determined to uncover how her son ended up with Benjamin. And once Benjamin woke up would he be willing to give her

son back!

He had no wife, yet he’d raised her child–she was truly grateful. She’d never let anything happen to him!

Amanda gently soothed her son until he calmed down. Then she went to help Benjamin turn over and gave him another pill.

After that, she went to the kitchen to make a delicious meal for her son. In the past few days, she’d observed everyone in the Schnidt household carefully–and when it came to food, she paid extra attention

Chapter 12

Because the poison in Mark’s system h

had been added to his meals. Which meant everyone in this house was a suspect,

A sharp glint flashed through Amanda’s eyes. She’d already arranged for someone to investigate. In a few days, she’d have answers.

Now that she’d found her son and was healing Benjamin, her next step was to figure out how to take her son away?

After breakfast, she asked a bodyguard to check with the old master. She wanted to take the child out for some fresh air.

It had been over half a month since she last saw her other kids–she missed her little treasures.

Mark was used to taking a midday nap. After he dozed off, Amanda went downstairs to wait for news,

She sat on the sofa and checked her phone. The old master had taken the opportunity to send Barry and his family to the rear courtyard. Barry didn’t complain, but threw himself into his work even more diligently.

Just then, she sensed someone entering the room. Looking up, she saw the butler walking in–with two women behind him.
