“What about Monica? Where was she assigned?” Abdiel asked.

Joshua answered, “I pulled a few strings. She was assigned to an assault unit in another combat zone. far from Mistcloud Mountain.” 

Abdiel’s expression eased slightly. “At least you had the sense to do that. Have Uncle Graham put pressure/ on the academy and get yourself and Martin transferred to the Mistcloud Mountain unit later as well.”

“Understood.” Joshua nodded and stepped aside. 

Seamus immediately grew anxious. “If Graham can get Joshua transferred to the Mistcloud Mountain unit, he can get me transferred out too, right? I don’t know anything about warfare. If I stay with the unit, they’l see right through me!” 

Abdiel gave him a contemptuous glance and sneered. 

“So what if they do? You think your identity is still a secret? Anyone with eyes can tell something’s wrong. What’s the point of hiding it?” 

“You!” Seamus glared at him with almost feral eyes. “Mr. Franklin is the one who gave me this identity!” 

Abdiel chuckled. “At this point, do you really think Mr. Franklin still expects anything from a useless loser like you?” 

Seamus had been using the serum for so long that the side effects had already begun affecting his brain. He could barely control his emotions anymore. 

Abdiel’s taunt had just snapped the last thread of his restraint. 

Seamus roared and lunged, reaching for Abdiel’s shoulder with his right hand. 

A violent surge of power erupted from him, strong enough to shatter stone and tear metal apart. It looked as though he might rip Abdiel to pieces in the next second. 

“The peak of the Archmaster Realm!” Joshua frowned. 

The Wrights’ experimental serum was terrifyingly effective. In such a short time, they’d pushed a useless man like Seamus all the way to this level. 

Joshua didn’t like Abdiel either, but he was now in charge of this operation. If anything happened to him, Joshua would be held responsible too. 

Left with no choice, he raised a hand to stop Seamus. 

But in the next instant, everyone froze.

Abdiel gave a cold laugh and pressed his right hand downward. 

Arushing force descended from above, slamming the enraged Seamus flat against the ground.

Seamus lay helplessly on the ground like an insect pinned inside a display case. He couldn’t resist at all and could only watch as the serum was injected into his body. 

Before long, the madness in his eyes faded. His mind cleared, and he slowly sat up, staring at his hands in surprise. 

Abdiel put away the syringe. “Mr. Franklin gave me this suppressant. It can keep the serum’s side effects under control for one month. It’s extremely valuable. If it weren’t for this mission, I wouldn’t waste it on someone like you. Seamus, you’d better not disappoint Mr. Franklin after everything he’s done for you!”
