Ch. Bounded To My Mate 7 Bounded To My Mate 7

Chapter 7

Ea’s meticulously made–up face twisted with envy. Unable to accept what she was seeing, she pointed at me like she’d lost her mind.

“No! That’s not Sophie! Sophie is a two–hundred–pound pig!

“Who the hell are you?! Did that fat freak pay you to impersonate her just to ruin my wedding?!”

Her hysterical shrieks only made the guests stare at her like she was an idiot.

I turned and looked at her coldly.

“Sorry to disappoint you.

“For seven years, I’ve worked up a sweat at the gym every single day. I’ve shed more drops of sweat than you have brain cells.”

Ella shook with rage and lunged at me, clawing for my hair. Jack grabbed her by the shoulder and shoved her hard behind him.

He turned on Ella, disgust in his eyes, and barked, “Ella, are you done acting crazy?! You’re practically deranged! Do you really want everyone laughing at us?!”

He took two steps toward me and deliberately drew himself up, his pecs straining against his shirt as he showed off the physique he was so proud of.

“Sophie, don’t stoop to her level. This is supposed to be a happy occasion.

“Come on. Why don’t we have the first dance and liven things up?”

In his mind, going to such lengths to show up had to mean I still had feelings for him and wanted to win him back.

He cleared his throat and struck what he clearly thought was his most charming pose. “Come, my dear Sophie.”

My classmates immediately started egging him on, but this time their tone had changed completely.

“Dance! Dance!”

“What a pair! Go on, Jack!”

My classmates kept cheering below the stage, whistles ringing out one after another.

Only this time there was no mockery in it, just envy and the excitement of a good show.

Ella shook with fury and shrieked hysterically, “Jack! Have you lost your mind?! I’m your bride! How can you have the first dance with that bitch?!”

Jack frowned impatiently and snapped at her under his breath, “It’s just for show. Everyone’s watching. Stop making a scene. This is embarrassing!”

He flung Ella’s hand away as she reached for him, then fixed his heated gaze on me again.

I looked at his greasy hand and suddenly smiled.

“Jack, have you gotten the wrong idea?”

I moved forward instead of back, crossing the grass in my high heels as I closed in on him one step at a time. The hem of my red dress sliced a sharp arc before him.

“Seven years ago, you kicked me into a fountain and used my love letter to humiliate me in public.

And you think tam standing here now to dance with you?”

His fake smile froze at the corners of his mouth, his outstretched hand stranded awkwardly in midair.

“Sophie, all that was a joke. Why take it so seriously…”

“A joke?”

I cut him off, raised one hand, and gave a crisp snap of my fingers.

The 4K LED wall behind me instantly switched to a new image.

It showed a hallway at our high school, with Jack surrounded by a group of adoring girls.

“That fat freak Sophie keeps hovering around me, and she’s getting on my nerves. Go teach her a lesson.

“Throw her backpack in the toilet, smear glue on her chair, and stuff a few dead rats in her locker.”

One of them looked hesitant and said quietly, “Is that really necessary? Sophie is good to you, isn’t she? She takes notes for you.”

Jack sneered. “She copied Ella’s work and framed her. Don’t talk to me about trash like that being good to me. She’s an ugly, disgusting pig. One look at her makes me want to puke. If I don’t get this out of my system, I swear I’m going to get depressed.

“Don’t worry. If anything comes of it, it’s on me.”

The video ended with the group agreeing excitedly, promising to teach me a real lesson for him.
