Ch. Bounded To My Mate 9 Bounded To My Mate 9
Chapter 9
Right. How could I possibly have it?
Because I’d gotten it back then.
In that moment, a wave of bitterness and hurt surged through me.
I’d gotten the recording back then, but I didn’t have the courage to show it to anyone.
I buried it deep, as though it were a dirty secret.
I had hidden it for one reason. At school, Ella was always bragging about her high–powered parents and her uncle, a powerful politician.
I was afraid.
I was afraid that if I released it, she would come after me and my parents, who ran a small farm.
I was terrified.
So, for all four years of high school, she bullied, slandered, and isolated me. Time after time, I suffered in silence and never dared fight back.
But things were different now.
Over those seven years, every drop of sweat, every weight I’d lifted, and every step I’d run had hardened into the armor I wore now.
At last, I had the courage to stand there. I wasn’t doing it for anyone else. I was there to get justice for the timid, cowardly girl I had been, the girl who could do nothing but hide under the covers and cry.
Ella shouted, “What is wrong with all of you? Throw this lunatic out! Right now! This instant!” She hauled up her expensive dress, covered in imitation crystals, and stormed to the edge of the red carpet.
“Don’t you understand plain English? I’m the client here! I’m ordering you to throw her out!”
The burly security guards in black stood rigidly at attention and ignored her.
Ella completely lost control and grabbed at the lead security guard’s suit sleeve.
“I’m warning you. If you don’t get her out right now, I won’t pay the rest of the venue fee!”
The head of security merely brushed her hand away.
He looked at Ella as though she were nothing but an absurd clown who couldn’t be reasoned with.
Camera flashes fired nonstop, and viewership on the influencers‘ livestreams had exploded.
Ignored by security, Ella went beet red, her chest heaving.
“Fine! You just wait!
“I’m calling whoever runs this place right now! I’ll file a complaint against every last one of you!”
She lifted her chin, desperately clinging to her haughty heiress act.
The line began to ring.

Almost at once, a low, mellow ringtone played a classical cello melody. Harrison approached slowly in an
maculate tailcoat.
Befind him came an elite service team made up of six top–tier assistants.
They moved through the packed crowd with ramrod–straight posture, parting it like water as they headed straight for the stage.
Ella’s eyes lit up, and she rushed toward Harrison, heedless of everyone around her.
“Mr. Spencer! Your security team is a complete disgrace!”
She rushed to cast herself as the victim, jabbing an accusing finger at me again.
“This vulgar woman is an out–and–out extremist. She fabricated that video to ruin my lavish wedding!
“Her presence at a place this exclusive is a serious stain on the estate’s reputation! Your contract says in black and white that you guarantee client safety.”
She planted her hands on her hips and assumed the imperious pose of a spoiled heiress.
“I’m ordering you to honor the service agreement and remove this security risk immediately!”
Harrison frowned slightly and calmly pulled his arm free of Ella’s grip.
“Ms. Reese, mind your language. You are in no position to question the professionalism of our security team.”
Harrison adjusted his bow tie, came to me and bowed respectfully.
“Ma’am, are you all right? Would you like me to have these people removed?”
