Ch. Bounded To My Mate 10 Bounded To My Mate 10
Chapter 10
The air went dead still.
Ella’s tirade died in her throat. She stared straight ahead, frozen.
Jack, who had been standing beside her pretending not to exist, finally lost his composure.
Shock written all over his face, he rushed forward and spread his arms to block Harrison’s path.
“Mr. Spencer, do you have the wrong person? In high school, she was a broke nobody who couldn’t even afforda sandwich!
“This is Blue Rose Manor, the most luxurious private estate on the entire West Coast! How could gutter trash like her possibly be your boss?”
Harrison straightened slowly and brushed the hem of his jacket with a white silk glove.
“Mr. Smith, please retract that foolish assumption.”
He took a gold–embossed official document from a senior assistant and unfolded it.
“The woman standing before you, Ms. Aubert, is the sole owner of this estate.”
He held it up so every camera could catch the official seal and my signature.
That announcement was the killing blow.
The entire venue erupted, and the livestream chats were moving too fast to read.
Ella backed away in disbelief. She rolled an ankle in her heels and fell awkwardly onto the red carpet, landing on her backside.
She shook her head frantically and muttered in broken fragments, “Impossible… this is absolutely impossible!”
I looked at her bloodless face and smiled. “I can let the past go. But don’t forget to pay the balance in full, Ella. Otherwise, my lawyers won’t go easy on you.”
Ella shrank back in terror, staring at me as if I were a demon straight out of hell.
Several of her closest friends worked up the nerve to rush forward and defend her.
“Ella’s family is loaded. A little over a hundred grand is nothing to them!”
“Exactly. That kind of money is pocket change to her family!”
“You think owning an estate makes you somebody? Ella’s family has connections you can’t afford to mess with!”
I turned my head aside and scoffed, “Is that so?”
I gave Ella a pitying look as she struggled to save face. “That reminds me, Ella. I still haven’t given you a wedding present. I’m sure you’re going to love it.”
I gave Harrison a look. “Bring them in.”
Ella tensed instinctively, as if she sensed something. Her eyes filled with resistance and fear.
“I don’t want it! I don’t want anything from you!”

It was too late.
gates opened again. Two security guards escorted a middle–aged couple onto the lawn.
They looked worn down by hardship. The man’s shirt collar was frayed, and the woman’s hands were thick with calluses from hard work.
The instant Ella saw who they were, all the strength drained from her body and she sank to the ground.
“Ella! My sweet girl, are you getting married today?
“Why didn’t you tell us?” the older woman, Diane Reese, cried out in delight, her cloudy eyes reddening at once.
Her husband, Robert Reese, moved closer in excitement, his callused hands fluttering awkwardly.
“Thank goodness you had your classmate bring us. They said it was a surprise for you. I’m not too late, am I?”
Neither Robert nor Diane noticed the strange tension around them. Their faces shone with pure joy.
“We couldn’t be happier to be here and see you so happy.”
Ella’s classmates and followers stood there stunned.
“Oh my God! What’s going on?”
“Impossible! Didn’t Ella say her father was an executive at a multinational corporation and her mother was a well – known artist?”
“Didn’t she say she’d attended an elite private school since she was little and grown up in a mansion in the suburbs?”
“So she’s been pretending to be a rich heiress all along and making fools of us!”
