It wasn’t until early the next morning that Skyler’s eyes snapped open, a powerful surge of aura bursting from him.
The second stage of the Innate Realm!
His cultivation had astonishingly broken through once again, reaching the second stage of the Innate Realm.
“Not bad. At this rate, I’ll break through to the Grandmaster Realm before the martial SAT. Setting my sights on the Sage Master Realm wouldn’t even be much of a stretch.” Skyler was fairly satisfied with this cultivation speed.
If anyone else knew what Skyler was thinking, they’d surely assume he’d lost his mind.
For most people, breaking through to the Innate Realm before the martial SAT was already enough to be considered a prodigy.
Even the descendants raised by the Saint-Realm lineages and the royal families of Imperia were, at this age, at most at the ninth stage of the Innate Realm, or had just barely broken into the Grandmaster Realm.
Yet Skyler actually wanted to reach the Sage Master Realm before the martial SAT, which was simply unbelievable.
“Skyler, my dad asked me to drive you to school.” Right at that moment, Teagan knocked on the door outside.
Skyler got up and walked out of the room, giving Teagan a nod. “Let’s go.”
With that, Skyler headed downstairs.
Teagan was about to say something when her pupils suddenly contracted sharply.
“The second stage of the Innate Realm!” If she wasn’t mistaken, Skyler’s cultivation seemed to be at the second stage of the Innate Realm?
Only a single night had passed, so how had Skyler broken through yet again?
How was that even possible?
On the way to school, Teagan drove while glancing at Skyler from time to time, starting to speak and then stopping herself.

Finally Skyler couldn’t help but ask, “What’s with you? Let me make one thing clear up front. Even though your dad’s trying to set us up, I’m not interested in you.”
Teagan ground her teeth. What was this guy going on about? He made it sound like she was the one interested in him.
Hmph!
Still, Teagan didn’t argue with Skyler, and instead couldn’t resist asking, “Skyler, your cultivation… you broke through to the second stage of the Innate Realm?”
“Is there a problem?” Skyler frowned slightly. “A mere second stage of the Innate Realm. What’s there to make such a fuss over?”
The corner of Teagan’s mouth twitched. How was it that, the way Skyler put it, she came off like some country bumpkin who’d never seen the world?
The second stage of the Innate Realm really was nothing to make a fuss over, but had he taken a look at his own cultivation speed? He’d only just broken through to the Innate Realm the day before, and overnight he’d broken through again, so wasn’t that worth being stunned over?
She pursed her lips and decided to pay Skyler no more attention.
They soon arrived at the gates of Riverspire High, and once Skyler got out of the car, Teagan drove off at once, worried that spending too long around him would be the death of her.
Skyler, for his part, didn’t pay it any mind and headed straight into the school.
“Skyler!” Right then, a pleasantly surprised voice came from not far off.
It was Helen, bouncing over at a light jog, and today she wore a little red dress that made her look young and radiant.
“Oh, it’s you, Ms. Norman.” Skyler gave a nod of acknowledgment.
Helen playfully stuck out her tongue. “Just call me Helen. And Skyler, thank you so much for the other day.”
Ever since she’d come down with that strange illness six months ago, she’d been living under a constant cloud every single day.
She’d very nearly given up hope, but Skyler had helped her win back her confidence, and had even let her come out ahead of Freya for the first time in half a year.
In six months, she’d never once felt this happy and at ease.

“No need to thank me. It was nothing.” Skyler shook his head. “And don’t get ahead of yourself. Until the problem with your body is solved, your cultivation will still have a hard time making any progress.”
“I know that, but now I can finally see some hope.” Helen didn’t mind in the least. “As long as there’s even a shred of hope, I won’t give up.”
She wasn’t afraid of hardship at all. What she feared was simply not being able to see any hope. And now that she could see hope, there was of course no chance she’d give up.
A glint flashed in Skyler’s eyes, and he suddenly asked, “And what if I told you I could cure your body?”
“What?” Helen was stunned for a moment, then flushed red with excitement. “Skyler, do you mean that?”
“Of course I mean it. To everyone else, your strange illness might look incurable. But to me, it’s nothing more than a bit of extra effort.”
The truth was, Skyler had long since seen exactly what was wrong with Helen’s body, and he’d simply not wanted to stick his nose in other people’s business before.
But seeing her optimistic attitude today, Skyler figured the girl wasn’t half bad, and didn’t mind lending her a hand this once.
“That’s wonderful!” Helen was overjoyed.
She’d already braced herself to battle this strange illness for the rest of her life, and had never imagined that Skyler could actually cure it.
“What’s so wonderful?” But right at that moment, a low voice suddenly came from not far
away.
A brother and sister were walking side by side toward them, none other than Freya and Winston.
The moment she saw Winston, Helen’s expression changed, because she and Winston were bound by an engagement.
Back when there’d been nothing wrong with her body, both the Sullivans and Winston had cherished and doted on her.
But ever since the trouble with her body started six months ago, all of that had changed.

The Sullivans had grown lukewarm toward her, and Winston’s attitude had turned colder and colder.
Just then, Winston frowned and shot Skyler a glance, then gave Helen a hollow, forced smile and beckoned to her. “Helen, come here.”
Helen was caught in a bind, biting her lip, wanting to refuse yet not daring to, because the Normans still relied on the Sullivans in a great many ways.
If she ever angered Winston, her whole family would be made to suffer for it.
Seeing that Helen still wasn’t moving, Winston’s face darkened and his voice instantly turned cold. “Helen, don’t forget your place. Get over here!”
Helen’s body trembled, and she instinctively started to walk over.
