Yet Skyler showed not a trace of fear, saying calmly, “All right, then I’ll give you exactly what you want!” 

With that, Skyler took out his phone and dialed Israel’s number. 

Israel picked up soon after. 

Skyler got straight to the point. “Israel, you’re the one who had Jennifer bring the Dragon Essence to the Younts, aren’t you?” 

Connor and the others grew even more scornful, because it seemed Skyler didn’t even have Jennifer’s number, yet here he was claiming to be close with her? 

And that Israel, who was he supposed to be? As if someone like that was fit to order the eldest daughter of the Leonards around? 

Skyler’s story really was full of holes! Did he actually take them all for idiots? 

Israel was a bit puzzled too. “Isn’t this Jennifer’s first time visiting your home? I just had her bring your family a little welcoming gift…” 

“No need for that.” Skyler cut Israel off directly. “Have Jennifer take the Dragon Essence back.” 

With that, Skyler simply hung up the phone. 

Israel felt a wave of frustration, because he’d had Jennifer deliver a gift and somehow it was the wrong one? He had no idea what had gotten into that Seamus kid. 

Still, he dialed Jennifer’s number and passed along Skyler’s message to her. 

“Skyler, didn’t 

you say you knew Ms. Leonard? So how is it you don’t even have her number, and instead you’re calling Israel?” 

The moment Skyler hung up, Seamus couldn’t resist mocking him. 

Freya and Winston sneered again and again too. “That’s right, if you’re going to put on an act, at least make it convincing. Your story’s riddled with holes, so did you think we’d actually be scared of you?” 

Skyler couldn’t be bothered to explain to this pack of fools.

Connor and the others all wore looks of scorn, because Skyler really thought one baffling little phone call could summon the esteemed eldest daughter of the Leonards? 

“Fine, then I’ll give you ten minutes. I’d like to see whether Ms. Leonard shows up or not!” 

Soon enough, ten minutes went by. 

The mockery on Seamus’s face grew even thicker. “Skyler, ten minutes are up, so where’s Ms. Leonard? Why isn’t she here yet?” 

“We’re all still waiting for her to come take back the Dragon Essence, aren’t we?” 

Connor snorted coldly too, no longer in the mood to keep humoring Skyler’s nonsense. 

But right at that moment, his gaze suddenly froze. 

Not far off, a flashy supercar came racing over and pulled to a stop in front of everyone, and out of it stepped a girl of unrivaled beauty. 

It was none other than Jennifer, whom they’d just seen two days before. 

“Ms. Leonard!” Connor’s, Seamus’s, and the others’ expressions shifted at the same time. 

Freya and Winston went pale with shock as well. “How is this possible? She actually came. Could it be…” 

They looked at Skyler and felt their mouths go dry. 

“Could it be that Skyler really does know Ms. Leonard, and is close enough with her that one phone call brought her right over?” 

Connor hurried forward uneasily and asked with an ingratiating smile, “Ms. Leonard, what brings you here? 

“You left in such a hurry last time, so you absolutely must come sit a while at my home today, and let me be a good host for once.” 

“No need.” The moment she got out of the car, Jennifer caught sight of Helen at Skyler’s side, and her expression shifted slightly. 

Her tone grew even colder as well. “I’ve come for only one thing today. Last time I delivered that Dragon Essence to the wrong person, so I’d ask that you return it.”

“What?” Hearing Jennifer’s words, everyone around was stunned all over again. 

Shock and anger churned in Connor’s and Seamus’s hearts. 

The way Freya and Winston looked at Skyler changed completely too.

Jennifer really came to take the Dragon Essence back, so could everything Skyler said earlier actually be 

true? 

Seamus glared at Skyler, grinding his teeth in hatred. 

Connor, meanwhile, forced down the shock and fury in his chest and asked in a heavy voice, “May I ask, Ms. Leonard, who was it that told you to come reclaim the Dragon Essence?” 

As he spoke, he cast a cold glance toward Skyler off in the distance. 

Jennifer had been in a bad mood to begin with, and at his question her voice abruptly turned cold. “Chief Yount, you’re asking rather a lot of questions. You’d do well to keep the ones that aren’t your business to a minimum.” 

It seemed Connor still didn’t know Skyler’s true identity. 

Since Skyler hadn’t said anything himself, she naturally didn’t dare run her mouth, much less drag Skyler into it. 

A chill ran through Connor’s heart. 

A moment ago he’d let anger cloud his judgment, because who was he to interrogate Jennifer about her affairs? 

“Understood.” Connor calmed down at once. “But that Dragon Essence has already been diluted by me, so I’d ask you to come to my home, Ms. Leonard, and we can discuss how to handle it.” 

Only then did Jennifer give a nod and set off for the Yount Residence together with Connor and Alice. 

“Skyler!” The moment Jennifer and the others had left, Seamus glared furiously at him. “Look at the mess you’ve made! 

“I’m telling you, if our family’s Dragon Essence really does get taken back, I will never let you off the hook!” 

That was Dragon Essence, worth a fortune and impossible to come by, and even to those great families and lineages it was extraordinarily precious.
