Seamus stared at Skyler’s retreating back, his face dark as a storm cloud.

Freya still couldn’t quite bring herself to believe it. “How does Skyler even know Ms. Leonard? This is impossible!” 

Seamus’s fists clenched tight, his expression growing even gloomier. 

Winston, standing off to the side, suddenly shook his head. “That’s not right!” 

Seamus and Freya both turned to look at him. 

Then they heard Winston lay it out. “Didn’t the two of you notice? Ms. Leonard didn’t so much as glance at Skyler from start to finish. 

“If they really knew each other, let alone were close, how could Ms. Leonard have acted that way? At the very least she should have gone over to say hello.” 

Seamus and Freya thought back on it, and it really had been like that. 

“Then why would Jennifer suddenly show up here? And why would she really come to take the Dragon Essence back?” Seamus asked, puzzled. 

Winston mulled it over. “Last time, Mrs. Webb and Teagan went to the celebration banquet, so they knew about how Ms. Leonard had mistakenly given you that Saint Realm spear. 

“Skyler probably guessed from that the Dragon Essence had been delivered by mistake too. Dragon Essence is precious, after all, so Ms. Leonard was bound to come reclaim it. 

“As for why Ms. Leonard happened to appear here, it must be nothing more than a coincidence.” 

Only then did Seamus and Freya nod in sudden understanding. “So that’s what it was.” 

They thought it over carefully, and Winston’s reasoning made a great deal of sense, so the truth had to be exactly that. 

What they didn’t know was that Jennifer had simply been carrying some resentment over being coldly turned down by Skyler last time, and on top of that she’d seen Helen at his side, which was why she hadn’t given Skyler any kind of warm reception.

“So Skyler just got lucky, like a blind squirrel stumbling on an acorn. He gave me a real scare there for a second!” Seamus let out a vicious grin. 

“As long as he and Ms. Leonard don’t actually know each other, that’s all that matters. Two days ago he humiliated me in front of everyone, so today watch me crush him!” 

As he spoke, a powerful surge of aura erupted from Seamus with a roar. 

The second stage of the Innate Realm! 

Not only that, but the internal energy coursing through Seamus’s whole body gave off an incredibly scorching aura, his entire frame as terrifying as a volcano.

Soon, Skyler and Helen arrived at the classroom.

They hadn’t forgotten that two days ago Seamus had sworn up and down that this year’s Southmere martial SAT top scorer title was as good as his, only for Skyler to come out well ahead of him in the end. 

Above all, at the very end Seamus still hadn’t been willing to accept it and had tried to throw down with Skyler, only to be beaten by a single strike of Skyler’s blade, which could only be described as a complete humiliation. 

Sensing everyone’s eyes on him, Seamus’s expression turned even darker. 

But he quickly stepped forward with a vicious grin. “Skyler, two days ago you got lucky and won a round. Do you have the guts to face me again today?” 

Everyone’s eyes filled with even more contempt. 

Is Seamus really just a sore loser? 

Two days ago he’d been beaten by Skyler in a single strike, and only a short two days had gone by, so does he really think he could beat Skyler today? 

Skyler swept a light glance over Seamus and said scornfully, “I’m not in the habit of trading blows with a loser I’ve already beaten.” 

Quite a few of the students in class were tickled by Skyler’s words, though none dared laugh out loud and could only hold it in. 

“Hmph!” Seamus let out a cold snort and, humiliated into a rage, said, “I’m not the man I used to be. Today I’ll show you just how big the gap between us really is. 

“Or is it that you don’t dare?” 

Skyler shook his head disdainfully. “Coming from someone with a mere second stage of the Innate Realm cultivation?” 

Hearing Skyler’s words, the crowd all around broke into a startled uproar. “What? The second stage of the Innate Realm?” 

“Wasn’t Seamus only at the first stage of the Innate Realm two days ago? Only a short two days have passed, and he’s already broken through to the second stage of the Innate Realm?” 

Soon a student with good sources spoke up. “I heard the Younts held a celebration banquet for Seamus the day before, and Freya’s father, Patrick, gave him an Innate Realm breakthrough pill. Seamus must have taken it to break through.”
