Chapter 31 Rivals at the Auction

Chapter 31 Rivals at the Auction

“What?” Alice cried. “You mean Skyler?”

Connor slammed his fist into the doorframe, shattering it. “Who else could it be but that little bastard If anything happens to Seamus, I’ll kill him myself!”

Connor immediately headed for Riverspire High, with Alice hurrying after him.

They soon reached the principal’s office and found Seamus badly injured. Freya was there too.

After checking Seamus’s injuries, Connor flew into a rage. “Where is that bastard? How dare he hurt Seamus this badly! I’ll kill him!”

Alice hadn’t expected Skyler to go this far. Tears streamed down her face.

“Connor, Seamus started the fight today. Skyler was just defending himself. You can’t blame him for that.” Raymond said with a frown.

Connor raised an eyebrow. “What do you mean? Are you saying Skyler did nothing wrong and my son brought this on himself?

“My son was nearly killed at your school! I haven’t even held you responsible yet, and now you’re defending the person who did this? You’ve got some nerve!”

Raymond’s expression turned cold.

“That’s exactly what I’m saying. Seamus brought this on himself. And here’s some advice. He has some talent, but he’s become arrogant because of it. He needed someone to teach him a lesson.

“Otherwise, one day he’ll pick a fight with the wrong person and get himself killed. And as for coming after

me…”

Raymond gave a cold laugh. “You may be commander-in-chief, but I’ve been principal here for more than ten years. Plenty of my former students hold powerful positions now. I’m not afraid of you.”

“You…” Connor was furious. He hadn’t expected Raymond to stand his ground like this.

Worse, Raymond was willing to openly challenge him over someone like Skyler.

Connor wasn’t the only one shocked. Freya stared at Raymond in disbelief.

She had assumed Quillan had released Skyler earlier without Raymond’s approval.

But now it was clear Raymond supported Skyler too.

What was so special about Skyler?

“Fine, Raymond. We’ll see about this!” Connor knew arguing any longer was pointless. Seamus needed treatment right away.

With a cold snort, he picked up Seamus and left.

Ale and Freya quickly followed.

Before long, they arrived at Mercy House.

It was the finest healing center in Riverspire. Its director, Sage Barnes, was famous for both healing and alchemy.

After examining Seamus, Sage frowned. “Chief Yount, your son’s ribs are broken. His internal organs afe badly damaged, and his spirit has suffered serious trauma.

“Fortunately, I can treat him. He needs a Nirvana Pill. It will heal his injuries and also strengthen his Crimson Flame Body.”

Connor sighed in relief. “Then please give him the pill, Dr. Barnes.”

Sage shook his head. “I don’t have one ready, but I can make one. You only need to provide the main ingredient-feathergrass.

“I heard Blackvale Chamber of Commerce is auctioning off a stalk today. It won’t be cheap, though. It’ll probably go for at least 150 million. You should head there if you want it.”

Connor frowned at this. His family had already given most of their money to Jennifer.

Where was he supposed to find this money?

“Alice, how much cash do we have available?” Connor asked.

Alice did a quick calculation. “About 100 million.”

Connor’s brow furrowed.

Freya spoke up. “Mr. Yount, my family can cover anything above 100 million.”

Connor’s eyes lit up. “Good. Then let’s go there now.”

Alice stayed behind to take care of Seamus while Connor and Freya headed to the Blackvale.

It was one of the three largest trading guilds in Chanaea. Its influence stretched across the entire country.

Meanwhile, Skyler and Helen had already arrived. They registered for the auction and received their

bidder number.

Helen flipped through the auction catalog and smiled. “Skyler, look! They really do have feathergrass today.”

Skyler was surprised too. They had only come to try their luck, but they had actually found what they needed.

Then again, it wasn’t that strange. Feathergrass was rare, but it wasn’t anything extraordinary to Blackvale.

Chapter 31 Rivals at the Auction

After all, Blackvale was famous for once auctioning off a Heavenly Realm weapon.

Weapons of that level were extremely rare across Chanaea. Almost all of them belonged to powerful. Heavenly Realm families or the Imperial royal family. They almost never appeared on the open market:

That auction had made Blackvale famous overnight.

Since then, it had ranked alongside the Starsea Chamber of Commerce and the Goldcrest Chamber of Commerce as one of Chanaea’s three greatest chambers.

“Skyler! Helen!” An angry voice suddenly came from nearby. “What are you two doing here?”

Winston approached them with a dark expression.

Helen was still officially his fiancée, yet here she was walking beside Skyler as if they were/a couple.

Winston might not want Helen anymore, but he couldn’t stand seeing her with another man.

“None of your business,” Skyler snapped. He couldn’t be bothered with Winston. He simply walked toward the auction hall with Helen.

“You…” Winston clenched his teeth in fury.

Just then, Freya’s voice came from nearby. “Winston.”

Winston turned and saw Freya approaching with Connor.

“Mr. Yount. Freya.” Winston nodded. “I’ve prepared 100 million. That should be enough, right?”

“It should be.” Connor finally relaxed a little.
