Quillan still remembered Raymond’s instructions, and said in rapid agreement, “No problem. of course it’s no problem. Go right ahead, Skyler.”
Everyone was shocked all over again, because wasn’t Quillan being far too easygoing?
Skyler nodded and walked out of the classroom together with Helen.
“Mr. Howard, if you just let Skyler walk out like this, I’d like to see how you answer to the Younts!” Freya let out a cold snort and left the classroom as well.
Quillan curled his lip, because his lenient attitude had been the principal’s call.
If Connor had a problem, he could go take it up with the principal, so why come to him?
“Skyler, where are you taking me?” Once they’d walked out of the school, Helen finally asked out of curiosity.
“Didn’t you want your illness cured? Your strange illness is simple. All it takes is a single nirvana pill to heal it completely, and the main ingredient for a nirvana pill is feathergrass. I heard the Blackvale Chamber of Commerce might have some at their auction, so I’m taking you there to try our luck,” Skyler said.
At his words, Helen was instantly overjoyed.
But a shadow of worry soon crossed her face. “I’ve heard of feathergrass. It’s formed when the blood essence of a demonic beast fiend drips onto clear feathergrass and transforms over the course of a hundred years, so it’s extremely precious and worth a small fortune.
“I…” She said awkwardly, “I don’t have that kind of money.”
Skyler’s brow furrowed slightly, because he did happen to have the hundred million he’d won off of Connor.
But if he got into a bidding war, it might not be enough.
Should he give Israel a call and have him wire some money over?
The moment the thought crossed Skyler’s mind, his phone rang, and wouldn’t you know it, the caller was none other than Israel.
Skyler answered without the slightest hesitation, and Israel’s voice came through. “Skyler, the Younts say that drop of Dragon Essence has already been diluted and some of it used, so

“They’re proposing three hundred million in cash as compensation. What do you think?”
A glint flashed in Skyler’s eyes, and he saw right through Connor’s intentions, which were nothing more than wanting to keep the Dragon Essence in the family.
After all, something like Dragon Essence was worth a fortune and impossible to come by, so even with money, there was nowhere to buy it.
As it happened, Skyler needed money right now, so the timing couldn’t have been better.
“Fine, then have Jennifer transfer the money to my account when the time comes,” Skyler agreed.
Israel naturally had no objection to that, because after all it was Skyler who’d killed the Silverwyrm, so everything it had belonged to Skyler to begin with.
The moment he hung up the phone, he saw Helen beside him, staring at him with a face full of shock.
Because Helen had been standing right next to Skyler, and he hadn’t made the slightest effort to hide the call from her just now.
So she’d heard every word of the conversation between Skyler and Israel.
So everything Skyler had said before was true. He really did know the eldest daughter of the Leonards of Imperia. And he really was the one who’d had the Younts’ Dragon Essence taken back.
Just who in the world was Skyler?
“What’s the matter with you?” Skyler looked at Helen, puzzled.
Helen struggled to get the words out. “Skyler, who on earth are you, really? How is it that… that even Ms. Leonard has to do as you say?”
“You sure you want to know?” Skyler said with a smile.
“Mm-hm.” Helen nodded quickly.
Skyler smiled. “There’s nothing much to hide, really. Three years ago I enlisted in the army in Seamus’s place, and by now I’m probably the youngest five-star general in all of Chanaea.
“As for Jennifer…”

A glint flashed in Skyler’s eyes. “The Heavenly Realm ancestor of the Leonards of Imperia is nearing the end of his lifespan, yet there’s no one in the family to carry on after him. The moment they lose a Heavenly Realm expert to protect the family, the Leonards are sure to be eyed hungrily by the other Heavenly Realm lineages and suffer heavy losses.
“So Jennifer wants to marry me and have me marry into the Leonards, to protect the family in her place and spare them from being preyed upon by the other Heavenly Realm lineages.”
At his words, Helen fixed her gaze on Skyler and said nothing at all.
“What, you don’t believe me?” Skyler asked.
Helen curled her lip, because she wanted to believe him, but wasn’t Skyler laying it on a little too thick?
He’d enlisted three years ago and become a five-star general in just three short years?
That was pure fantasy.
And Skyler had also claimed that Jennifer wanted to marry him and have him help protect the Leonards.
He’d said himself that what the Leonards needed was a Heavenly Realm expert to protect them, so did that mean Skyler, as young as he was, was already at the Heavenly Realm?
Forget the present day-in all the tens of thousands of years of history, no one had ever heard of a prodigy like that, someone who could reach the Heavenly Realm in their teens.
Skyler smiled and didn’t bother explaining any further.
The two of them headed straight for the Blackvale Chamber of Commerce.
Meanwhile, at the Yount Residence.
After seeing Jennifer off, Connor finally let out a huge sigh of relief.
“No matter what, at least I held on to the Dragon Essence. As long as we have it, Seamie is sure to leave Skyler completely in the dust before the martial SAT.”
Even so, Connor still felt a bit of a pang.
After all, that was three hundred million, and adding in the hundred million he’d lost to Skyler before, even the Younts’ cash flow was stretched a little thin.

Right at that moment, a phone rang.
Connor took out his phone and saw it was a call from Raymond, and though his brow furrowed slightly, he answered anyway.

“What did you say?” But he’d only listened to a single sentence before he let out a furious roar.
Boom!
The terrifying aura of an Archmaster Realm expert erupted from him without the slightest restraint, and even Alice beside him nearly couldn’t withstand it.
“Connor, what’s wrong?” Alice asked quickly.
Connor was, after all, the commander-in-chief of Southmere’s Demon Suppression Division. and he was always steady in how he handled things, rarely losing his composure like this.
“Understood. I’ll be right over,” Connor said coldly.
After hanging up the phone, his expression turned utterly grim in an instant. “This is all that fine son of yours. He beat Seamie into critical condition, and Raymond wants me to come collect him.”
