Quinn and the others looked uneasy. They had expected this outcome from the start. This was a military base, and they had barged into someone else’s territory without permission. By military protocol, they were clearly in the wrong. 

Skyler didn’t care. After surveying the room, he gave a scornful laugh. “So this is your command center. If you hadn’t told me; I-would’ve mistaken it for some seedy bar.” 

“What did you say?” 

“Say that again if you dare.” Several of Zachery’s subordinates shot to their feet and pointed furiously ad Skyler. 

Folding his arms, Skyler stared them down. “Am I wrong? If this is a command center, where’s the battle map? Where’s the military intelligence? 

“All I see is a table covered in food and liquor, surrounded by a dozen drunken thugs. A vital military site? More like a vital drinking site.” 

Zachery’s expression darkened. He shoved Seamus aside and slowly rose with both hands braced against the table. A vicious aura instantly engulfed the room. 

“Damn brat, are you mocking the northern warzone command?” Zachery snarled. “Being reinforcements doesn’t give you the right to insult us. Northville’s soldiers aren’t pushovers.” 

Skyler’s expression hardened as he lowered his arms. An overwhelming force erupted from his body and instantly shattered Zachery’s killing intent. 

Zachery stumbled half a step backward. The safety of the Mistcloud Mountain supply camp vanished from his perception. In its place stood a battlefield littered with a million corpses, where dense killing intent threatened to tear him apart. 

“Boss, what’s wrong?” One of his subordinates noticed his condition and hurriedly patted his shoulder. 

Zachery snapped out of the illusion, drenched in cold sweat. Even the back of his shirt was soaked, and he struggled to swallow. 

Backed by his powerful family, Zachery had reached the fifth stage of the Ascension Realm. The brat before him was at most in the Archmaster Realm. 

With such a vast difference in cultivation, Zachery should’ve crushed Skyler through sheer pressure. Yet somehow, he had been the one defeated. 

Unable to suppress his fear, Zachery’s imposing presence collapsed. “Enough nonsense. What exactly are you here for?” 

Skyler curled his lips and focused his icy killing intent solely on Zachery. “Nothing complicated. We’re here to request control of your camp’s communications department.”

Skyler nodded knowingly. “So we can take control as long as the higher-ups approve?”

Skyler finally smiled. He pulled an old phone from his pocket and calmly made a call. 

The other party answered quickly. “Skyler, you finally decided to call me.” 

Skyler chuckled. “Monkey, congratulations on your promotion.” 

“Did you call only to make fun of me?” 

“I need your help with something.” 

“I’d walk through fire for you, Skyler.” 

Glancing at Zachery, Skyler said, “I’m stationed at the Mistcloud Mountain supply camp. I need control of its communications department. Take care of it.” 

The man on the phone hesitated. “Skyler, that won’t be easy to arrange” 

Skyler acted as though he hadn’t heard him. “You have ten minutes. Fail, and you’ll answer to me personally.” 

“Yes, sir.” There was no hesitation this time. 

Silence fell over the room. Zachery and his men stared at Skyler as though he were an idiot before bursting into laughter. 

“This kid is putting on quite a performance.” 

“Who does he think he is, some general? He wants our communications department?” 

“He should take a good look at himself.” 

Leaning against the table, Zachery sneered. “Fine, brat. I’ll give you ten minutes. Let’s see what you have to say when time runs out.” 

Unperturbed, Skyler calmly put away his phone. The communicator on the office desk suddenly rang with a piercing tone. 

Zachery froze before instinctively answering it. A commanding voice came through. “Zachery Silva, transfer control of the communications department to our allied forces from Skyward Martial Academy within ten minutes. No mistakes.”

Toby studied him curiously. “Skyler, are you the legendary five-star general? Is Seamus the impostor who stole your military merits?” 

Skyler smiled faintly. “Don’t talk nonsense. The official ruling names Seamus as the five-star general. I’m nobody.”
