Skyler remained unmoved. He leveled his spear at Victor’s face, his gaze as cold as frost.

“Military law?” Skyler scoffed. “I’m surprised you remember those words. Tell me, Victor. What’s the duty of a Chanaean soldier?”
Skyler released the full authority of a five-star general.
Victor’s vision blurred as the world turned blood-red. Skyler seemed to tower before him like a mountain. radiating divine power that Victor couldn’t face directly.
His mind went blank, and his voice trembled. “To kill demonic beasts and defend our homeland.”
Skyler snorted and pointed two fingers toward Fieldhaven Outpost. “Then do you understand what that outpost means to the front line?”
Victor shuddered and stumbled back.
“Fieldhaven Outpost is the front line’s supply hub,” Skyler declared. “If the beasts capture it, tens of thousands of soldiers will be isolated. Northville’s border will become a feeding ground for demonic beasts again.
“I killed Calone, and the truth has already been established. You’re his brother, so I understand why you hate me. I wouldn’t complain if you came after me for revenge. But you had no right to treat this war like a game.”
“I didn’t,” Victor stammered as Skyler forced him backward.
“You served in Northville’s army,” Skyler continued. “Its soldiers are your family, yet you disregarded their lives for personal revenge. You’ve betrayed your own comrades.
“You were raised on Chanaea’s soil, yet you nearly allowed demonic beasts to ravage this land. You’ve betrayed your country.
“The people of Northville suffered terribly and finally escaped danger. Because of you, they almost endured the same nightmare again. You’ve betrayed the innocent.
“Skyward Martial Academy came to reinforce Northville. We refused to retreat, even when facing death. Yet you watched us become surrounded and refused to send help. You’ve betrayed your allies.”
Skyler’s voice grew increasingly forceful. “You’ve betrayed your comrades, your country, the innocent, and your allies. Yet you dare accuse these soldiers of disobedience and invoke military law. What gives you the right?”
Every word rang with righteous conviction. Victor felt his soul tremble before his legs gave way and he collapsed onto the ground.
Skyler swept his spear aside. “Arrest Victor and Martin. Take them back to Mistcloud Mountain for trial.”
“Yes, sir.” The close-cropped soldier’s face flushed with excitement as he rushed forward and restrained

Victor.
The students seized Martin on the other side. “Are you staging a mutiny?” he shouted frantically. I’m a teacher. You have no right to arrest me.”
Skyler gave him a contemptuous glance. “Be patient. You’ll understand when we return.”
After tying up Victor and Martin, Skyler said goodbye to Kaie. He then led the students and soldiers back toward Mistcloud Mountain.
[Mission complete. You drove back the beast tide. Reward: Increase two stages of Archmaster Realm cultivation.]
The reward arrived as Skyler turned away.
Tremendous power surged through his body, causing his cultivation to soar. He instantly reached the eighth stage of the Archmaster Realm.
Fortunately, Skyler had a secret technique that could conceal his cultivation. Otherwise, such a miraculous breakthrough would’ve terrified everyone.
“Skyler.” The close-cropped soldier approached him hesitantly.
Skyler looked at him. “What is it?”
“My name is Freddie Gaines,” the soldier said. “It was an honor to fight alongside a soldier like you.”
Skyler clasped his hands respectfully. “The honor was mine.”
Freddie looked him in the eyes. “Everything you said came straight from my heart. I can’t stand a disgraceful soldier like Victor either, but he works for Joshua.
Joshua has powerful connections, including many senior officials. I’m afraid Victor won’t be punished. You may become their target instead.”
Skyler smiled, unconcerned. “The truth speaks for itself, and everyone here can testify. Joshua can’t silence all of us.”
Freddie sighed helplessly. To an ordinary man like him, Joshua truly did seem powerful enough to silence
everyone.
“I’ll do everything I can to support your testimony,” Freddie promised. “Still, you need to be careful.”
The group soon returned to the Mistcloud Mountain supply camp, where Joshua, Zachery, and several others were already waiting at the entrance.
Although Skyler’s forces had won at Horseshoe Valley, the victory hadn’t come easily. Skyler and Gordon had entered the heart of the beast tide to protect the cliffside defenses.
Skyler’s clothes were soaked in filthy blood, leaving him looking battered.

Joshua assumed they’d lost and immediately approached to mock him “Isn’t this our invincible Skyler
hat happened to you? How did the reinforcement operation go? Did you win?
Standing nearby with his arms folded, Zachery scoffed. “Do you need to ask? Look at him. They obviously lost. I told you a student couldn’t accomplish much. Yet he still had the nerve to lead troops into battle, His arrogance harmed everyone.”
Joshua sighed with feigned disappointment. “Fieldhaven Qutpost is an essential supply camp Skyler, you’ve disappointed me. Gather the troops. Chief Silva and I will lead them and reclaim Fieldhaven Outpost ourselves.”
Skyler immediately understood everything.
Joshua had brought soldiers to reinforce the supply line, yet he’d ignored Fieldhaven Outpost and arrived
at Mistcloud Mountain first.
He wanted the military merits for recapturing Fieldhaven Outpost.
The outnumbered garrison was certain to request reinforcements. Defending the outpost would earn some merit, but recapturing it after its fall would earn far more.
