Chapter 5 Do You Even Know Who He Is?

Even Skyler hadn’t expected his former subordinate to turn out to be Rosie’s husband and Teagan’s father.
What a coincidence.
“Skyler?” Dominic froze slightly as well. He hadn’t expected Teagan and Skyler to know each other.
But Skyler? Isn’t he Seamus?
Before Dominic could even ask, Teagan couldn’t hold back a cold laugh.
“Skyler, didn’t you say earlier that you already cut ties with Mrs. Yount and didn’t need her to arrange anyone to take care of you? So why are you still at my house?
“I thought you had some backbone. Turns out you’re nothing special.”
Rosie also frowned slightly.
Clearly, she didn’t think highly of someone who acted one way in words and another in reality.
“Mrs. Yount? Cut ties? Arrange care?” Dominic grew more and more confused, wondering if Skyler had some connection to Alice.
Wait, I’d heard that Connor and Alice had a son named Seamus.
Could it be that Commander Yount was actually Connor and Alice’s son?
But then why did Teagan call him Skyler?
Dominic was full of doubts and was just about to ask more when Teagan’s sarcastic tone made him explode in anger.
“Teagan, shut your mouth!”
Who was Skyler? He was an 18-year-old five-star general, the undisputed top genius of the western warzone command.
Not just in Riverspire. Across all of Southmere, they had to address Skyler as commander or general respectfully.
Dominic never expected his daughter would dare be so rude to Skyler.
Rosie and Teagan were both startled by the sudden roar.
But neither of them understood the reason behind it. They only thought Dominic was acting out of respect for Connor and Alice, feeling that they shouldn’t treat a guest like that.
Teagan immediately explained, “Dad, you don’t understand. This Skyler is basically useless. No one knows where he was fooling around for the past three years. The moment he came back, he actually wanted to cut ties with his family.
“Mrs. Yount felt bad for him, so she asked Mom to look after him. But when I went to pick him up earlier, he still insisted on saving face, saying he didn’t need anyone’s care. In the end, he still came to our house.”
Teagan’s eyes were full of disdain as she looked at Skyler.
Dominic was stunned.
So his commander really was Connor and Alice’s son.
At the same time, his anger surged even higher. Teagan actually dared to call Skyler useless. She had gone too far.
“Enough!” Dominic shouted. “Do you even know who he is? He is—”
If Skyler was “useless,” then everyone else might as well be beneath that level in all of Chanaea.
Dominic was just about to reveal Skyler’s identity when Skyler quietly reached out and stopped him, shaking his head slightly.
Although Dominic didn’t know why Skyler stopped him, he swallowed the words back down.
Instead, he said coldly, “In any case, Sea—”
Dominic almost said “Seamus,” then hesitated for a moment before correcting his words. “Skyler will be staying at our house. No one is allowed to object.”
“Dad…” Teagan frowned, clearly unhappy.
Dominic glared at her. “Especially you. If you dare speak rudely again, I’ll teach you a lesson!”
He sighed inwardly.
He had originally planned to match his daughter with Skyler.
After this mess, that would be much harder.
Teagan couldn’t understand why her father was suddenly so protective of Skyler, but since he had spoken, she didn’t dare say anything further.
“Alright then.” Rosie stepped in to smooth things over.
She glanced at Skyler. “Staying here is fine. It’s just one extra seat at the table.”
Then she turned to Dominic. “The Younts’ younger son, Seamus, has returned from the army. They’re holding a celebration banquet in three days. What kind of gift should we prepare?”
“Seamus?” Dominic couldn’t help but glance at Skyler again.
Teagan added sarcastically, “Yeah. I heard Seamus has made quite a few military merits in the army. With that, he might even be able to compete for this year’s state martial SAT top scorer.
“You both have the same parents. How can the gap be so huge?”
Dominic shot her another glare before she finally shut up.
“Just handle it as you see fit,” Dominic said casually. His mind was still elsewhere. Without another word, he grabbed Skyler and headed upstairs.
“Skyler, come. I’ll show you your room.”
Once they entered the room, Dominic finally couldn’t hold it in anymore. “Commander Yount, why do they call you Skyler? Are you Connor and Alice’s son?”
Skyler nodded.
“And Seamus? What’s going on? And why did you cut ties with the Younts?” Dominic pressed.
Skyler smiled and didn’t hide anything. “Three years ago, the person originally selected for conscription was Seamus. But Connor and Alice were worried about his safety, so they had me go to the front lines in his place.”
Dominic’s eyes widened. He hadn’t expected such a truth.
“After I came back, Connor said that military merits could be used for bonus points on the exam. To help Seamus compete for the state martial SAT top scorer, they wanted me to transfer my military merits to him.
“He even transferred my engagement with Freya to Seamus.
“Since they don’t treat me as their son, then I don’t need to treat them as my parents.”
“Something like that actually happened?” Dominic grew furious. “Has Connor lost his mind? This is outrageous! I’ll demand an explanation from him right now!”
Skyler shook his head. “No need to trouble yourself. Don’t they want my military merits? Let them have them.”
Only then did Dominic react. With Skyler’s identity and strength, if Skyler truly wanted to demand answers, there was no need for Dominic to intervene at all.
Even though he still felt anger he couldn’t swallow, he nodded. “Alright. We’ll do it your way.”
Then he sneered. “But can Seamus even handle the military merits of a five-star general? Not just Seamus—even Connor himself can’t handle it.
“I really want to see what expression they’ll have when they learn your real identity.”
Skyler was looking forward to it as well.
“By the way, I’m going to take the martial SAT in a month. Help me arrange enrollment.”
Dominic laughed helplessly. “Commander Yount, aren’t you just bullying everyone if you go take the exam?”
When he retired, Skyler was already a Saint Realm expert.
And Skyler had stabilized the western border and personally slain the Silverwyrm.
Silverwyrm was the ninth son of the fallen demon dragon, already at the peak of the Saint Realm.
Even in its home territory, several Saint Realm experts working together might not be able to suppress it.
Yet Skyler had killed Silverwyrm alone. That was enough to prove that his strength had reached an unbelievable level.
“How is that bullying?” Skyler chuckled. “If I hadn’t gone to the military, I would’ve been taking the exam this year anyway.”
Seeing that Skyler wasn’t joking, Dominic nodded. “Alright. I happen to know the principal of Riverspire High, Raymond.
“If you take the exam, you must be the national martial SAT top scorer. Since good things should stay among friends, I’ll give him this big favor.”
He immediately called Raymond Hunt.
At the same time, Raymond was drinking coffee with Connor.
