Chapter 6 Reward Is Dragon Essence

“Raymond, my son, Seamus, is only 17, and he’s already reached the first stage of the Innate Realm. Now that he’s earned military merits as well, he’s absolutely got what it takes to become the top scorer.”
Connor beamed with pride. “If he enrolls at Riverspire High and takes the martial SAT under your school’s name, your school will be the one benefiting.”
“You’re right, Chief Yount,” Raymond replied with a chuckle, taking a leisurely sip of coffee.
“Quit playing dumb.” Connor laughed. “I’ll get straight to the point.
“I heard you still have a drop of Dragon Essence that’s been diluted ten thousand times. How about giving it to Seamus?”
Dragon Essence was an extraordinary treasure that tempered the body and strengthened one’s internal energy. It was effective for every cultivation realm below the Ascension Realm. Even after being diluted ten thousandfold, it remained an incredibly precious resource.
If Seamus refined it, not only would it greatly solidify his cultivation foundation, but it could also dramatically boost his cultivation within a month.
Reaching the third or fourth stage of the Innate Realm wouldn’t be impossible.
If that happened, his chances of becoming Southmere’s martial SAT top scorer would be guaranteed.
Raymond knew that Connor had come specifically because of Dragon Essence.
Still, if Seamus truly had the potential Connor claimed and could bring Riverspire High a state top scorer, then giving him the diluted Dragon Essence wasn’t out of the question.
Just as Raymond was about to agree, his phone suddenly rang.
After answering and listening for a few moments, his expression turned rather strange.
When he hung up, he paused, wondering how to bring it up.
Connor was already getting impatient. “Raymond, just give me an answer. Is it happening or not?
“I don’t believe there’s anyone in the younger generation of Riverspire more qualified than Seamus to use that Dragon Essence.”
After a moment of thought, Raymond finally spoke, “Chief Yount, that call just now was from Dominic, commandant of Riverspire Garrison.”
“Dominic?” Connor looked surprised. “Why would he be calling you?”
“Commandant Webb said he’s about to send me this year’s national martial SAT top scorer.” Raymond stared at Connor with an odd expression.
“What?” Even Connor was momentarily stunned.
Across the vast nation of Chanaea, talented prodigies were everywhere. There was always someone stronger.
Especially the younger generations cultivated by centuries-old great families, Saint Realm lineages, and even the imperial families of Imperia. Their strength was almost unimaginable.
That was why, no matter how gifted Seamus was, he could at most compete for Southmere’s martial SAT top scorer.
As for the national title? Connor had never even dared dream that far.
Dominic certainly had a lot of nerve. He actually claimed he could send Raymond the national martial SAT top scorer.
Connor immediately sneered. “Raymond, you can’t seriously believe that, can you? You know just how terrifying those young elites from the great families are.
“How could a tiny place like Riverspire possibly produce the national martial SAT top scorer? That’s wishful thinking!”
Raymond shook his head. “The national title is hard to say, but I know Dominic well.
“Since he dared say that, the person he’s recommending must be exceptionally capable. He may not be inferior to Seamus.”
Connor’s expression immediately darkened. “So, are you planning to give that diluted Dragon Essence to him instead?”
Even without the Dragon Essence, Seamus already had a very good chance of winning the state martial SAT top scorer title.
But Connor wanted to eliminate every possible uncertainty.
After thinking it over, Raymond slowly replied, “How about this? Two days from now, our school will hold a mock exam.
“I’ll offer that drop of Dragon Essence as the prize. Whoever finishes first will receive it.”
Only then did Connor’s expression soften.
Still, he remained dissatisfied. “Hmph. Why make it so complicated? I don’t believe that whoever Dominic sends can actually beat Seamus!”
Raymond didn’t bother arguing. Everything would be settled once the mock exam results came out.
…
At the same time, at the Webb Residence.
Dominic hung up the phone with a smile. “Raymond agreed. You can enroll the day after tomorrow. I’ll have Teagan take you over.”
The earlier misunderstanding had made it much harder to match Skyler with Teagan.
But as long as the two of them spent more time together, even a few casual pointers from Skyler would benefit Teagan for the rest of her life.
Skyler naturally saw through Dominic’s intentions, but he said nothing.
Although Teagan had misunderstood him, there was no deep grudge between them. If there was a chance, he didn’t mind giving her a few pointers for Dominic’s sake.
Before long, Dominic left to take care of other matters.
Skyler remained in his room, crossed his legs, and began cultivating.
“The Ninefold Genesis Art is the strongest cultivation technique in existence, known as a forbidden martial art. To reach the supreme realm and become invincible, one must dissipate and rebuild cultivation nine separate times.”
The description of the Ninefold Genesis Art surfaced in Skyler’s mind as the technique automatically began circulating through his body.
His original cultivation had already reached the peak of the Saint Realm.
Even an ordinary first-stage Saint Realm expert was enough to establish a Saint Realm lineage that could prosper for centuries.
Skyler, however, had reached the very peak of the Saint Realm, only a half step away from the Heavenly Realm.
For someone at that level, choosing to dissipate and rebuild his cultivation required unimaginable resolve.
After all, even the greatest geniuses needed decades of cultivation and enormous amounts of resources just to reach the Saint Realm.
Along the way, they also faced countless life-and-death dangers. Especially in today’s world, where demonic beasts ran rampant, overwhelming strength was the only true guarantee of survival.
To dissipate and rebuild cultivation was no different from gambling with one’s own life.
If anyone learned that Skyler had chosen this path, they would undoubtedly think he had gone insane.
But Skyler didn’t see it that way. What he sought wasn’t merely the peak of the Saint Realm. He wanted to surpass the Saint Realm, Heavenly Realm, even the Divine Realm, and reach the supreme realm beyond them all.
As the Ninefold Genesis Art continued operating, Skyler quickly broke through into the first stage of the Postnatal Realm.
Then, without encountering the slightest bottleneck, his cultivation continued climbing from the second stage to the fourth stage.
Skyler’s breakthrough speed was faster than a rocket. In just two days, he went from an ordinary person with no cultivation to the sixth stage of the Postnatal Realm.
When I first cultivated to the sixth stage of the Postnatal Realm, it took me over 20 days. Now I’ve done it in only two.
As expected, after dissipating and rebuilding my cultivation, my cultivation speed has increased dramatically.
Skyler was secretly satisfied. At this pace, he wouldn’t even need a full year to recover to his peak strength.
He might even surpass his previous limits.
Just then, someone knocked on the door before pushing it open.
Teagan’s somewhat impatient voice came from the doorway. “Hey, my dad told me to take you to Riverspire High to enroll.
“Hurry up and get out of here. Don’t waste my time. I still have things to do afterward.”
